Live in: Eurasian and North America.  Mostly forested areas.

Eat: Brown Bears are Omnivores, which means they eat both plants and animals.  Most bears will eat plant roots or shoots, insects, berries and small mammals.

Fun Fact: Brown bears are one of the largest land mammals in the world! While standing on all four feet, it’s shoulder reaches a height between 4-5ft! 

Misconception: Bears are slow and can’t run well.  NOT AT ALL!  They can run up to 35 mph!  Easily out running most humans.  

Interesting Fact: The brown bears found in the United states are referred to as Grizzly bears. The word “grizzly” refers to the bears coat color and means “sprinkled or streaked with grey.”
